STARSTRUCK - lights.

I am still completely starstruck.
I've always wanted to see lights live, and i finally got to.
And hands down, it's the best concert i've been to. ever.

Michael Bernard Fitzgerald opened for lights.
I've never heard of him before but prior to the concert,
i checked him out on youtube (i linked his twitter though LOL)
although i stopped him in mid song on youtube,
he was quite excellent on stage! :) *add to itunes playlist
y'all should check him out :)

I think my heart instantly stopped when lights got on stage.
i don't even know what words i should use to describe how amazing it was.

unfortunately i forgot to charge my camera so it died way too soon :(
but i used my boyfriends phone to take a few pictures & videos
post those up as soon as i can !
Could this woman BE any more beautiful?!!?! *love sick sigh
I'd so be lesbian for her.

Here i am, 3 days later and still completely thinking about the concert

BANG for your buck.

HAHAHA... yes what a creative title :)
this blog is gonna be dedicated to finding the best quality for the smallest price.
and trust me, i'd be the one you should ask about anything cheap!
This isn't going to be the most amazing blog
because i've already blogged about products from 2/3 places i'm about to reveal to you guys...
but hopefully this one will be a lot more helpful in details about the stores rather than their products!
So brace yourselves for a looooong and detailed post!

So first i'm gonna start off with a little place called Daiso
I'm sure all the asians know what i'm talkin' about!!!
Daiso is a "$2 store" with everything imported from Japan! They basically carry anything from cosmetics, food, glassware, to stationary! In Vancouver, it is conveniently located at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. I don't know of any other locations here, but if you're passing by Tinseltown there is a store VERY similar to Daiso called YokoYaya123 (whether they are the same company i have no idea :( sorry!) haha such creative names the japanese come up with.
I've also seen a Daiso in Seattle so i'm not sure if it's common in the states.. But for us Canadians, considering the currency is always fluctuating, it can or cannot be worth it shopping at the American locations, so definitely keep in mind the currency rate!
Product wise, everything is very much worth it considering everything's got a $2 price tag! Unfortunately, like most dollar stores, Daiso is no longer their advertised $2. The last trip i took, i found items that ranged from $6-10 :( probably because of the dumb economy. Their quality is pretty decent, My mom was looking for a new pot to cook instant noodles in, and she found one there and it's surprisingly lasted us the last (roughly) 3 years?

I was looking for nail products so here's a few items I got :)
Although prices have been raised on various products, these were all purchased for $2!!! (with tax of course)

These are just some nail art.. jewellery things.
they come with faux pearl looking things, fake crystals, and little rose buds!!
definitely cute and i'm gonna try them out soon

These are nail polishes with the thin nail art brushes. as you can see, i'm not very good at the whole nail art thing (the C was a total fail).. As for the brush, i only tried the white one and the bristles are a little whacky.. which is why i bought the product below!

Thin nail art brushes!! i know professional ones and stuff are a little more expensive probably $5-7 PER brush.. but since i'm only starting out on this nail art stuff i thought this would be a good buy.

I'd definitely recommend these products for people who are just beginning to experiment with nail art or even cosmetics (they have EVERYTHING!! eyeshadow, liners, curlers etc!)

location TWO: Forever 21
i know, i know.. more than half the stuff i blog about is probably from here... but HONESTLY it is probably one of my favourite and CHEAP places to shop!!!
they have different collections, which of course, vary in price.. But the majority of it is VERY affordable!

One of my very first posts were dedicated to Forever 21 accessories, so i won't even start with that because i absolutely love their stuff! always cute.. but i can't say the same for the quality.. but hey, it's cheap stuff!
these were around $4.80

and how cute is THIS?!! a little geisha set..comes with tweezers, nail clipper, and nail filer! they're all relatively small, so very travel friendly :) it also came in a pinkish/red color
this was around $3.80??

I've been looking for a pair of really cute strappy heels. when i found these i was a little intimidated by the length of the heel, but once i had them on... i fell inlove! I'm probably one of the worst out of my friends with wearing heels, but i surprisingly survived wearing these over the weekend! i wasn't stumbling like i usually do :) but i had a good reason.. they were soOOoOo comfy!! no aching at all ^_^ And they were definitely a steal @ $31.80 compared to a pair you'd pick up at Aldo or something =)

This cute palette was purchased for $6.80
Forever 21 is starting to carry more and more cosmetcs & beauty products, so i decided to try this palette out. The pigmentation isn't great, but i've tried on the blue and maroon/mauve-ish colors with primer and once you pack on the color it's not that bad!! but i personally didn't like a few of the colors on my face! so i probably won't be whipping this palette out too often :P

Last but definitely not least, The bestest of the cheapest, ELF cosmetics!
I know, i also talk about ELF like crazy here. But there's definitely a good reason. About 90% of the time i pick up a product, i love it.. so here's what i got recently

100 shades for $10 .. seriously. what could be better?! Better pigmentation, thats what. but aside from that, i really like the variety! there are matte AND shimmer colors so i really don't think i'll run out of color combinations! hehe Similar to the Forever21 palette, colors don't really show up, but a little bit of packing it on will do just fine! it also comes with a little mirror and two little shadow brushes :)

they had another promo, all mineral products were half off (after min. $20 purchase)

ELF Mineral Lipstick in
L: Runway Pink
R: Nicely Nude
the swatches are no good because the color is no good! their color is very similar which bummed me out.. ELF's color swatches online are terrible.. they're never reall what you expect them to be -.- but i have yet to try these colors on my lips. So i'm crossing my fingers. After the half off they were $1.50

Yes.. you guys have DEFINITELY seen these before!
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow
alot of mine are the shimmers, so i decided to buy out the matte ones too! none of the mineral line eyeshadows have failed me yet, so im very happy with this :) after half off $1.50 each
Mineral Smudge Brush
ELF just came out with these brushes, and i tried youtubing reviews before i ordered but i didn't seem to find any... So i decided to give it a try since it's on sale anyways.. and the brush itself is VERY soft! but i personally bought hte wrong brush for myself :( Blends very well though! $2.50 i think =p

Anyways.. sorry these items are so repeated!! but i can't resist these stores! everything is sooo cheap.. and i just wanted something to write about for you guys to read/look at :)

Since it's thanksgiving and all,
I'm so thankful for those who are reading my blog!!! please continue reading, and give me your input, i'm trying to better myself at this blogging thing, so i'm sorry it gets messy at times.

And thanks to my friends for supporting me,
even though i'm still a noob!

I had myself a few very yummy yummy turkey dinners, and i hope you all did too!
I'll post a bit about my past weekend events!
Stay tuned loves :)

Sailor/Nautical Look - Halloween

Last year for halloween , i decided to dress up as a sailor
and that was also around the same time i started experimenting with make up.
The look wasn't amazing but i thought it was a very cute look,
and I wanted to post the look here on my blog,
but unfortunately i forgot how to achieve the look.. haha

So instead, i decided to revamp the look.. and made it more of a smoky eye
Since the colors have been slightly changed,
i think this look would go well with any sort of ocean/water related costume.

I also recorded the whole thing on my mac,
but i didn't like myself very much through out the video =p
So once i edit, perhaps i'll decide to upload it onto youtube
For now.. here are the photos (keep y'all posted about the video!)

i didn't take photos of the palettes i used, so i took these off the
ELF & MAYBELLINE websites
ELF in Teal Dream $1 online
Maybelline Eye Studio Shadows in Sapphire Siren $7

All over lids: BLUE from ELF palette
Crease & Outer Corner: BLUE from MAYBELLINE palette
Outer Corner: BLACK from MAYBELLINE palette over blue
Inner Corner & Bottom Waterline: SANDY color from ELF palette
Bottom Lashline: BLUE from MAYBELLINE palette
Lashes: Maybelline's THE FALSIES Volume Express
Lips: Rimmel London in Pink Blush $4ish

I think the pink makes it very Barbie!
a lot of mine rocked the blue eye shadow and pink kisses
did yours?

Let me know what you guys think of this look!
Good, bad, too plain, too much, not nautical at all?

I asked on facebook what looks people wanted to see,
but since Christine was the only one who answered..
keep posted for a Geisha look! :)

Oh! and i met Justin Bobby from The Hills last weekend ;)
Yes, i tried to edit the drunk out of me..
didn't seem to work. oh well!

Until next time loves! :)
